Community Inventory
The Community Inventory is a large data-book about Austin. It will include a broad range of data, with chapters devoted to the following topics:
- Demographics & household trends
- Natural environment
- Land use and zoning
- Economic development and employment trends
- Housing and neighborhood conditions
- Transportation
- Public utilities
- Parks and recreation
- Community facilities
- Historic Austin
- Urban design and urban form
The Community Inventory will be the data foundation for creating the Plan Framework, starting with the second Community Forum Series.

The following sources of data and maps are currently available:
- Planning & Development Review maps (includes maps available at the Comprehensive Plan Open House).
- City of Austin Demographics.
- City of Austin Budget Office, including information on the City's current spending and sources of revenue.
- The Sustainable City Initiative (write-up and presentation to Planning Commission) was an effort prior to the Imagine Austin Comprehensive Plan to allocate growth in Austin.
- The Central Texas Sustainability Indicators Project; see their 2006 Annual Report for more good data.
- Travis County's 2009 Community Impact Report on conditions related to social service programs.
- Central Texas Greenprint for Growth -- a joint project by the Trust for Public Land, Capital Area Council of Governemnts, and Envision Central Texas.
- Envision Central Texas resources, including its Vision for Central Texas.
